*The fallout from the 2021 Astroworld tragedy continues to impact Travis Scott as the rapper is hit with another lawsuit. AllHipHop.com cites The Blast in reporting the lawsuit was filed against Travis Scott by Ceremony of Roses.
In the suit, the company mentions “substantial financial harm” it allegedly suffered from the infamous festival. Ceremony of Roses, which provided carnival games and amusements for the Astroworld event, claimed it sustained a significant loss from its investment in the event.
As a result, the company blamed Travis Scott for the event’s lack of safety, leaving the company with no way to recoup $700,000 in out-of-pocket expenses.
“At the very minimum, Defendants owed COR a duty to exercise ordinary care in maintaining a safe and secure environment for COR’s business activities and Festival attendees,” the lawsuit stated. “Defendants negligently and willfully breached this duty in numerous respects.”
With its lawsuit, Ceremony of Roses joins various families and friends in suing Travis Scott over the Astroworld tragedy, which resulted in the deaths of 10 people and hundreds injured.
In addition to the rapper, the lawsuit named Live Nation as a defendant. Also, an undisclosed amount in damages is being sought by the Ceremony of Roses from the suit.
In addition, to Ceremony of Roses’ lawsuit, Travis Scott is also dealing with multiple civil cases resulting from the Astroworld tragedy. In June, the entertainer avoided criminal charges in connection to the deadly event when a Texas grand jury declined to indict him, AllHipHop noted.
