*McDonald’s is introducing a highly anticipated new item, the Big Arch burger, to its menu in certain markets.
Named after the brand’s iconic golden arches, this larger burger was first announced over eight months ago and is now being launched in Canada and Portugal, Indy 100 reports.
The Big Arch features two quarter-pound beef patties, three slices of white cheese, crispy and regular onions, gherkins, lettuce, and a special Big Arch sauce, all served on a sesame seed bun.
The CEO of McDonald’s, Chris Kempczinski, told CNN: “We think we’re going to be able to deliver a great tasting large burger at a superior value to what [customers] can get anywhere else.”
“We have heard our guests loud and clear and understand they are looking for a bigger burger on our menu, and we are excited to bring this new global menu item to Canadians,” McDonald’s Canada Chief Marketing Officer Alyssa Buetikofer said.
“This satisfying burger combines the familiar McDonald’s flavours our fans know and love with some unique new ingredients, including a tangy new burger sauce created for the Big Arch specifically,” she continued.
The company is starting with the Canada and Portugal markets to gather feedback before potentially expanding the Big Arch to other countries.
