*Kamala Harris’s ex-boyfriend, former talk show host Montell Williams, has responded to a photoshopped image of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ face superimposed over his own in a picture with the Democratic presidential candidate.
As we reported earlier, a 23-year-old photo of Williams with the vice president went viral after President Joe Biden announced he would not seek a second term and endorsed Harris.
Complex reports that the Kamala/Montel 2001 photo dates back to the Eighth Annual Race to Erase Multiple Sclerosis Benefit at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City in, California. Williams and Harris “briefly dated” during this time.
Williams previously warned of “an unpleasant reaction” to anyone seeking his comments about the resurfaced photo.
“I’ve said what I’m going to say about the thing that keeps trending,” Williams said on X in July. “My friends in the media should think twice about wasting time on a 20+ year old picture – you will find doing so will earn an unpleasant reaction.”
.@KamalaHarris and I briefly dated about 20 years ago when we were both single. So what? I have great respect for Sen. Harris. I have to wonder if the same stories about her dating history would have been written if she were a male candidate? https://t.co/UQjkP2m5jr

A right-wing account posted a photoshopped version of the photo, showing Diddy’s face over Montell’s after the rapper/producer was charged with sex trafficking and racketeering on Tuesday.
“Here is P Diddy with Kamala Harris,” the post read. “P Diddy has been arrested for sex trafficking! Who thinks he should expose everyone in Hollywood?”
Williams responded: “Here they go again with ‘all black people look alike…’”
The Telegraph reports that there is no evidence Harris and Combs personally know each other, although both appeared at a virtual town hall in April 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
While serving as a senator for California, Harris praised the Bad Boy Records mogul in a social media post for advocating racial inequality.
“Thank you, Diddy, for hosting this town hall last night,” she wrote on X.
“There’s a lot at stake for our communities right now and we must bring to the forefront how coronavirus is perpetuating racial inequality and health disparities.”
