Skinny Hightower’s latest effort Mind Over Matter is due in 2023 on Trippin’N’Rhythm Records. The album, which features 13 original songs, reflects the strides Skinny has taken to not just become a better pianist, but a better man. Influenced by the masterful artistry of his musical heroes in jazz piano (Keith Jarrett, Michel Petrucciani, Brad Mehldau, Bill Charlap, and others), the album speaks to his initial inspiration for making music—love. Featured on the album are acclaimed violinist and composer Josh Vietti (ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown, Sway In The Morning Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show) and accomplished saxophonist Gary Honor.
